The next Spectra Crown Tale will retell Thumbelina! She's small (but not thumb-sized) and in love with a swallow-shifter.
Coming September 2026.
I figured that Lina should be adopted, because the original fairytale has her mother find her inside of a flower. I didn't realize how much the story would be about adoption and families, but thankfully, my awesome beta reader is an adoptive mom herself.
The book can stand alone, but repeat readers will recognize Robin (the love interest) and his family. Rico King, the villain of the previous two books, finally meets his downfall in this book. There's also a cameo from Jon (the hero of The Cousin Curse), and a bit of an origin incident for the bull from my future "Billy Begg and his Bull" retelling. The "beetle" from Thumbelina, introduced here, also has a part to play as the villain of a future Crown Tale.
